SCIM + English Locales

Can anyone tell me how to use scim in english gnome?
I have changed the locale to the following but it still can work.

我已打入以下指令，

export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
export GTK_IM_MODULE=SCIM
scim -d &

已重新進入gnome，按了ctrl+space，scim 的視窗都不出現。

那麼請叫出一個 xterm 並在其中執行以下動作：

1. export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
2. export GTK_IM_MODULE=SCIM
3. scim -d &
4. xterm
在 4. 叫出的 xterm 中按 ctrl+space 看有沒有 scim 視窗
在 4. 叫出的 xterm 中呼叫 firefox (maybe other browsers will do) 並測試 ctrl+space，看有沒有 scim 視窗

如果有，請把以上 export 放入 .xinitrc 或 .bashrc 中
沒有的話，再看看了說

不過看來還是有可能失敗，如果真是如此，我只能猜測是最後一行

我發現你ps的結果並沒有 scim 的process
可能是scim沒有正確的執行，這樣的話 XIM 的方式會無法執行

你是用gnome吧
你進gnome之後開啟gedit
然後在編輯區上按右鍵，然後選input method
看看裡面有沒有scim的選項
如果有就選一下，再按 ctrl+shift看看能不能叫出輸入法

現在可以在gedit 中使用，但在其他地方，例如firefox,openoffice都不可以。
