fonts problem

hi all,
my X 's fonts (should be default fonts) have sth wrong. it become extra extra large. specificially, it happen in my firefox, XTerm, and gaim.
anyone know how can i solve it?
here is the screenshoot.

do u do anything for font system, if yes, pls notify it.

最簡單的方法就是，安裝got提供的中文修正ebuild
裡面有包含firefly patch
現在伺服器應該已經恢復了…
你可以參考以下幾篇

簡單的說，你就是要安裝GOT的版的 freetype, fontconfig, xfree(or
xorg-x11), pango(如用到gtk2的程式), qt(如用到qt的程式)
及xttmgr
當你裝完了之後執行一下
#fc-cache -v -f
#xttmgr --auto (注意，這個動作會更新XF86Config,記得備份)
然後重新進 X 應該就ok了…
這樣你就會有一個好用的中文環境，而且還有中文字名稱

只有在中文化時
依中文化指南把freetype註解
改用xtt
而字型安裝全由xttmgr處理
之後
也得到一個不錯中文環境

所以是因為用xtt
才讓我得到不錯的中文環境嗎
如果用got 的ebuild
但不用xtt，不用xttmgr
是否前面網友的問題仍會存在呢??

他使用got的ebuild我相信他的問題可以被解決，因為他可以用Xft取得字型，而不用透過XLFD，這樣就跟使不使用xtt就無關了

following are what i did...
emerge KDE from gentoo prebuilt package.
i got super big fonts.
then, i emerge arphic fonts
i can read chinese but my firefox's menu text become super ugly. i may post the capture later...

anyway, i will try your method again.!
