nautilus-cd-burner & erase cd

自從轉到gentoo後，我一直都是只用nautilus內建的burn功能來燒錄CD，今天第一次想erase CD時才發現，不能erase CD，可是在Nautilus的help說有這功能。

Nautilus -> help -> Session 7.11 Writing CDs (wala help裡的字不能copy/paste)

其中的step 5寫

5. Use the Write files to a CD recorder dialog to specify how you want to write the CD, as follows:

Erase CD Select this option to erase the current contents of the CD.


可是我的dialog根本來這個選項，誰有用nautilus erase CD的嗎？我實在不想裝k3b，因為它要裝好多東西，我都是儘量用gnome的軟體。

你用的是什麼？ CD-R？ CD-RW?


你用的是那個版本的 gnome？ 因為好像 erase-cd check box 好像應該是不在了。

The change is that if the CD is rewritable and full, it automatically erases.

thats not even remotely funny, i dont want my full cd-rws erased, what has the world come to :-(

Your CD-RWs will be erased every time and rewritten... thats a problem with the ISO filesystem... unless of course you just use UDF for CD-RWs like me so you can just read/write to them like its a floppy/drive

謝謝你的回答，不過還是不行，並沒有自動erase。

我用的是DVD+-RW，平常我也都是用nautilus在燒CD，nautilus-cd-bruner版本是
gnome-extra/nautilus-cd-burner-2.8.6

或是還有什麼不錯的軟體可以推薦一下嗎？thanks

我沒有在用 RW 所以無法幫你測試。
不過我可以建議實用其它軟體:

你是要整張 DVD-+RW erase?
我目前用的是 Gnomebaker，我覺得還不錯。

我只知道這個是用 python + gtk 寫的。
eroaster 的官方很奇怪﹐沒有放 screenshot，你要自己用 Google 圖片搜尋找! 這是我找得到的最新版本screenshot
左下方好像有一個橡皮擦的東西﹐我猜是 erase 吧?
2.2.0_pre8 是在 ~86 裡，你可以試試。
sourceforge 上最新的是2.2.0-0.9a。

還有一個是 bashburn，portage 裡也有。

這些程式都有一個共通點: 就是它們都只是一個"殼"而已，底層的東西都一樣。

後來我挑了Graveman來用，因為他在portage裡面有，對我來說最簡單，當然如果他不好用的話我就會再去試下一個，不過Graveman試用之後覺得還蠻不錯的，gui介面還不錯，我用的erase功能也容易使用。所以我決定就用這個啦！thanks

我發現graveman沒有燒錄VCD的功能。
Gnomebaker好像也沒有，它的features網頁寫著

辦法是有啦... 只是看你原不原意花時間，而且我也沒試過...

看一下 k3b 是呼叫那一個程式 (k3b 也只是一個殼而已....)

      vcdimager -t vcd20 videocd.mpg

      This will create videocd.cue and videocd.bin, that can be burnt using cdrdao.

If you're in a pal country, use pal-vcd as your taget.

k3b or similar should be able to deal with that .mpg file and burn a vcd.

ww，非常感謝，你又再次提供這麼多寶貴的資訊。我做了一些嘗試，花好多時間。

1. 我用了dvdstyler，覺得這是個蠻方便的工具，不過不是我要的，應該是說不是我現在要的，它的確可以用拖拉方式就可以燒錄了，不過只有燒DVD，不能燒VCD。

2. 嘗試你的結論，"用 vcdimager 弄出 cue , bin 來，然候用 bashburn ? "

這個方法讓我花了好多時間，還好後來終於成功。我一開始一直失敗，後來原來是一般user失敗，用root就成功，這部份我要在找時間研究，forums.gentoo.org上也有人遇到類似情況。

總之，謝謝你啦！終於又讓我在Linux上達成一項工作。
